Welcome to 2016! Happy New Year!!
Wow it’s a new year already, didn’t 2015 just fly by!! It was a crazy year for me, one filled with highs and lows. Most of the high’s being through running Tammaspice Designs actually 😀
This year 2016 is a year to grow and shine I think. A year to focus on the positive things happening in my life and to keep being that ‘glass half full’ kind of gal that I like to think I am. Just like this favourite quote of mine (below), I want to be more aware of all the moments, big or small that take my breath away. Sometimes life just gets so busy and crazy we forget to focus on the small stuff, the good moments in a bad day, those moments with your children or loved ones that make you smile and more. The world can blur by just too fast really.
I was on holiday recently in Hobart with my husband’s family, and I was talking to a family friend (who is going through a rather trying time in her life at the moment) about focusing on the positive things in life and how we should both start a Joyful Jar to help us keep that focus everyday. Now that I’m home again I’ve gone ahead with that idea 🙂
So here it is (below), I have started my ‘Joyful Jar’ or as some people call them Happiness Jars. A jar to put in a positive thought or moment of happiness from each and every day throughout 2016 which I’ll then get to look through and enjoy reading on 1 January 2017 . I will be writing mine just on a slip of paper with the date on it and whatever it was that made me feel joyful or positive on that day.
Here are a few of mine already…
*Grateful for hot days for washing to dry fast so I can get more loads done in the day.
*Old friends to catch up with who make me feel rejuvenated, even after a 5hr visit.
*A comfy bed to sleep in and an awesome shower to get clean in, ahhhh!
So if you would love to join me on this journey (so much easier than a New Year’s Resolution!!!) then go grab a jar, a box or even a bag and start filling it up each day with your joyful moments also. Remember it doesn’t have to be just x1 a day, you can do multiple! The more joy in the jars the better I say 😀
For those of you who have done these in the past, please feel free to share pictures of your jars or tell me about your experience with it – did it make a difference in your life? I’d love to hear.
